Since 1998, MURC has been the recognized nonprofit working with the Township of Neptune, and the nonprofit developer, CityWorks, advocating for redevelopment and quality of life improvements, while also acting as a resource for residents in the Midtown area. We are proud to announce the near completion of the 2nd project on W. Lake Avenue – the “Midtown Community Park” located across from “Jane H. Booker Family Health Center” 1828 W. Lake Avenue, which opened to the public on June 8, 2010.

Midtown Beautification Day

“A Clean Street Starts in Front of Where You Live”

The Midtown Urban Renaissance Corporation (MURC) and First Pentecostal Church of Neptune is sponsoring it’s

4th Annual Midtown Beautification Day

Saturday,  May 7, 2011        10:00 am – 3:00 pm

West Lake Avenue, Neptune – between Rt. 35 and the boarder of Asbury Park, and

Liberty Park, Monroe Avenue, Neptune

Our goal for this event is to encourage residents to take pride in their community and adopt that “a clean street starts in front of where you live”.  Also on this day, we continue to promote our “Litter Free Zone” signs by cleaning vacant lots along West Lake Avenue.  At Liberty Park, the planting will begin for a Community Garden.  As in the past, local youth and community groups will be invited to participate in the works concluding with t-shirts, a cook-out, and community service certificates for all.

We are reaching out to you as a respected business in the area for donations to help offset the cost of this event.  You will find a list of supplies most needed attached. Your support will be greatly appreciated and noted in our press release afterwards.

MURC is a NJ 501(c)(3) non-profit that  operates solely on the generosity  of businesses like yours, to help provide community events, workshops, candidate forums and neighborhood meetings for residents. We were appointed by the Township of Neptune in 2005 to partner with the developer, CityWorks of Trenton, NJ, on the revitalization of West Lake Avenue. Our mission advocates for redevelopment, employment opportunities, and safe, clean streets in the community of Midtown.  It has been our pleasure over the past 4 years to work with the dedicated members of First Pentecostal Church on “Midtown Beautification Day” and other community activities.
